With the increasing use of the newest version of Opera Browser, I decided to write a post about something I learned today (yes, it’s taken me this long to work it out!).
You can install any Chrome Extension in the Opera Browser, as it uses the same framework.
Shall we jump straight in and I’ll show you how to set it up using my Tiny.ee Extension as an example.
Firstly, open Opera (if you aren’t already in it) and then head over to the Opera Store, you can either search for “Install Chrome Extensions”, or click here to go directly to the page. The plugin should show as being created by Opera Software.
It’ll look something like this;
Once you’re on that page, click the “Add to Opera” button on the right-hand side. It should change the button text to say “Installing” and then “Installed” once it has completed.
Now it’s time to head over to the Chrome Store to install the Extension of your choice. In my example, we’re going to install the Tiny.ee Extension. You can either go to the store and type in Tiny.ee which will return it in the search results, or you can click here to go directly to it.
On the page, the button that would normally say “Add to Chrome” now says “Add to Opera”, like so;
Simply click the button and voila, you have successfully added a Chrome Extension to Opera.
