Alright, it isn’t exactly a year, it’s more like a year and 3 months – but I wanted to touch on what has happened with this project since I first wrote about it back in 2017.
Let’s begin with how many sites were indexed at the time of writing the original post. To quote the post – “there are currently 1,729 indexed domains available on the site”. It wasn’t many, but considering that I hadn’t really planned to do anything with it, the attempt was at least there.
Fast forward a year and 3 months and the site now has a whopping 125,447 sites indexed. That’s a monumental jump and has rocketed the overall global rank of the site.
In my first post I wrote about how I hadn’t really done anything with the site and was letting it grow organically. Unfortunately this was a slow process and therefore I stepped in to give it a bit of a boost.
Thanks to this boost, the site is only now gaining traction and growing by itself. With this growth happening so rapidly, I’ve implemented a realtime counter on the homepage in order to be transparent about the real numbers of the indexed sites.
So what’s the plan moving forward? I’m just going to keep it as it is and see where it goes. Hopefully with time, the site will pay for itself and may even outgrow the original plan.
At the time time of the first post, the site was ranked 23,084,990 on Alexa, whereas at the time of posting this, the site is ranked 1,546,945 globally on Alexa.
