As another year draws to a close, I find myself reflecting on the months gone by with a mix of emotions. Admittedly, I feel a tinge of regret for not writing as much as I had hoped this year. However, rather than dwelling on what wasn’t accomplished, I’m choosing to celebrate the small victories and lessons learnt along the way.
The Power of a Little Notebook
In an interesting twist, I’ve shifted from digital to analogue, finding solace in jotting down my thoughts in a little notebook. This small change has liberated my creativity, allowing me to write whenever inspiration strikes, unshackled from the immediacy of a computer screen. It’s a testament to how small changes can significantly impact our daily routines.
2023: A Year in Review
Working from home has continued to be my norm in 2023. Contrary to what some might feel, the solitude has boosted my productivity, though I’m open to the idea of returning to an office if needed. It’s about finding balance in whatever work environment we find ourselves in.
A significant part of this year was dedicated to my recovery from surgery. I’m grateful for the strength and resilience my body has shown, allowing me to return to the gym. While my muscles may protest, it feels good to be moving again.
Wedding planning has been a substantial yet joyful part of my year. We’ve nearly crossed everything off our checklist, leaving us with the anticipation of the big day. It’s a unique mix of stress and excitement, a reminder of the significant life changes that await us.
Gratitude and Highlights
Amidst the hustle of everyday life, I’ve learnt to appreciate the little moments of joy and the people who make them special. Be it a quiet evening at home or a laugh shared over a video call, these instances have added colour to my year.
Setting Mindful Intentions
As for resolutions, I’ve decided to approach them differently this year. Instead of setting rigid goals, I’m focusing on intentions that promote growth and well-being, be it personal or professional.
Looking Ahead
As 2024 looms on the horizon, I’m filled with hope and curiosity for what the new year will bring. I look forward to continuing my writing journey, embracing the unexpected, and celebrating life’s milestones, big and small.
Bring it on!
